Dr. Mikin Patel brings a practical, patient-first approach to modern medicine, championing minimally invasive procedures that are as effective as surgery but far less disruptive to daily life. Known for his down-to-earth style and expert technique, Dr. Patel believes patients deserve personalized, hassle-free care that helps them regain their health without the stress of navigating large hospital systems.

Dr. Patel received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, completed his internship at NorthShore University HealthSystem and trained at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He went on to complete a prestigious fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Patel is double board certified in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and specializes in image-guided, minimally invasive treatments for conditions such as liver tumors, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and uterine fibroids. He is widely published in peer-reviewed journals, has presented nationally, and conducts ongoing research into healthcare quality and innovation.

In addition to his role at Joint & Vascular Institute, Dr. Patel recently joined the University of Utah as adjunct faculty, where he will teach, mentor, and collaborate with their growing Interventional Radiology team alongside Dr. Osman Ahmed. Their combined expertise will help shape the future of the program and expand its academic and clinical reach.

In addition to his clinical and academic work, Dr. Patel holds leadership roles at both local and national levels, including with the Society of Interventional Radiology, and is a frequent speaker on emerging advancements in the field.
